While flying brings its own headaches, car travel in California can be a challenge. If you are coming to California for a vacation and renting a car, it is important to know what to expect. An unprepared driver will likely find California driving a less than enjoyable experience.

First, if you’ve rented a car, it might be a good idea to take a few minutes to become thoroughly familiar with the vehicle before heading out. If you are still trying to figure out how to turn on the air conditioning while you merge into traffic, that is a problem. You should be prepared for inevitable traffic delays. It is a holiday weekend, so the normal traffic concerns are made substantially worse.

California is an excellent destination for holiday travel. There is no better place to enjoy the start of summer. If you are careful and plan ahead, there is no reason you cannot enjoy a safe holiday weekend.
